From India to Egypt, and Sweden to Britain, the Roma people are wandering gypsies that sometimes live outside the law and social acceptance.
In this fascinating documentary, Marina Danezi gives voice to the all-singing, all-dancing, all-partying Greek Roma people who claim, for them, survival is an everyday challenge, but they remain fiery and proud—“people who live on the streets learn more than those who go to school.”
Danezi’s cameras enter the Roma communities of Attica, Argolida and Ilia, where she captures a previously inaccessible world. Contrary to popular opinion, the filmmakers were welcomed with open arms. As one of the interviewees in the documentary says, “Us gypsies are a mysterious people…”
