Muayad Alayan’s first feature Love, Theft and Other Entanglements is an offbeat comedy that explores the story of Mousa, a Palestinian car thief who gets into serious trouble when he steals the wrong car. What Mousa thought was an Israeli car and an easy way to make money and escape his life in an impoverished refugee camp, turns out to be a load of misfortune when he discovers a kidnapped Israeli soldier in the trunk. Filmed in a black and white retro style reminiscent of 50s and 60s cinema, Love, Theft and Other Entanglements offers an original take and a thoroughly Palestinian comedy of errors.
