The Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF) is a travelling arts organisation committed to uncovering human rights issues through film and art. The Sydney leg takes place from 26–30 May 2015, with a diverse selection of films that strive to inspire conversation and action about social justice.
An interesting film on the circuit is The Beekeeper, which follows the story of Ibrahim Gezer, a Kurdistan immigrant who draws comfort and wisdom from bees. From the upheaval of war in his homeland and family separation to his new life in Switzerland where his hives dot the Alps, bees have been a constant in Ibrahim’s life; they’ve helped him face and overcome his worst fears.
