Opening this year’s Arab Film Festival in Australia is a comedy in which devout Lebanese Muslims try to navigate their love lives without breaking religious rules. From director Assad Fouladkar (When Maryam Spoke Out) and starring Darine Hamze, Rodrigue Sleiman, Mirna Moukarzel, Zeinab Hind Khadra, Ali Sammoury, Halal Love intertwines three stories in a daring film that captures the humour in faith and relationships.
