Siblings Musa and Widad, who appeared as children in the film Flying Paper, are now young adults confronting the aftermath of war. Adapting to the harsh realities of yet another violent disruption to their hopes and aspirations, Gaza from Within is a deeply moving story about the impact of war on communities, especially its youth. The documentary includes powerful images taken by award-winning photographer Anne Paq, who worked closely with young Gazan journalist Abeer Ahmed.
This short documentary will be followed by Dégradé, a feature drama set on the Gaza Strip. Christine’s beauty salon is heaving with female clients when suddenly gunfire breaks out across the street. Stuck in the salon, with the prospect of death drawing nearer, the women start to unravel. How will the day end?
