As part of Duke’s Day 2015, Jack McCoy will be presenting his award wining film “A Deeper Shade Of Blue”, free for all to come and see outdoors on a massive full HD Screen at Freshwater Beach in Sydney.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Duke Kohanamoku’s legendary surfing exhibition at Freshwater beach in 1915, a short film competition is also being held in conjunction with this event, and Dukes Shorts is accepting entries from emerging filmmakers who also love surfing, up until 10 December 2014.
Entries must be 3-5 minutes in length, tell a story that includes “our community’s love and respect for the ocean and the environment” and/or something that includes Duke Kahanamoku and be submitted as a high res QuickTime file. Finalists will have their films shown before “A Deeper Shade Of Blue”, in front of thousands of people, at the finale of the Duke’s Day on Saturday January 10th, 2015, with the winner picking up a Panasonic DMC-GH4AGN-K GH4 camera valued at $2999.
