An incisive depiction of life under siege, Dégradé follows the story of 13 women in a Gaza beauty salon who struggle to maintain normalcy as gunfire breaks out across the road. Set almost entirely within the salon, Dégradé captures the intriguing conversations between this diverse group of female clients—a bride-to-be, an expecting mother, a devout woman and a pill-popping addict—as their day of leisure draws closer and closer to death. Featuring an ensemble of blazing performances, including one by the renowned Hiam Abbas, Dégradé is a homage to the women of Gaza and their resilience, strength and humour.
