With over 60 years of illustrious history, the Sydney Film Festival is one of the biggest international film events on the Sydney calendar each June. The festival’s current director is Nashen Moodley, and during his first two years at the helm, the Festival grew significantly. In 2013, with the event celebrating its 60th anniversary year, attendances increased to 143,000.
Apart from their extensive film program, the festival has many special events, a talks program, a popular opening night gala party and a festival hub bar featuring performances, exhibitions and parties. Every year, Sydney Film Festival also takes a selection of films on the road to regional Australia for its Traveling Film Festival initiative.
